Actualités scientifiques Vie du labo Prix et distinction

Dante Fedele's work focuses mainly on the history of international law and diplomacy.

A research fellow and legal historian specialising in the study of modern diplomacy and international law at the Centre for Judicial History (CHJ - CNRS/University of Lille), Dante Fedele is interested in the emergence of the figure of the ambassador in the late Middle Ages and early modern period. His work has highlighted the complexity and richness of political interactions during these periods. By exploring the intellectual foundations of international law, he has shown how diplomacy shaped modern political rationality.

His publications, such as "Naissance de la diplomatie moderne (XIIIe-XVIIe siècles)" and The Medieval Foundations of International Law, offer a new interpretation of the history of international law, opening up to periods that were not previously taken into account.
